Brighter Horizons Math, Science and Technology Conference
is scheduled for Saturday, March 8th, 2014
at California Lutheran University, 60 West Olsen Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA
2014 Brighter Horizons is presented by the AAUW (formerly American Association of University Women) Thousand Oak and Simi Valley Branches in cooperation with Camarillo and Ventura County Branches and in partnership with the City of Thousand Oaks and California Lutheran University.
Registration has closed. We have no more room. We are sorry if you missed us this year, but look for us again in two years.
If you registered and sent in our form and fee previous to this week just come on out on Saturday at 8 AM to pick up your schedule. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY CONFIRMATION. Please go to our "Directions to CLU" page to see where to go. If you registered this week and have not gotten your form or fee sent in you should find our Trouble Desk at Check-In to submit them.
Brighter Horizons Conference nurtures students' interests in math and science related subjects to encourage them to consider careers in technological fields. Students in 5th to 9th grades are invited to choose 3 different workshops each led by a woman who is a professional working in the subject field. Workshops include hands-on activities that demonstrate tasks related to the subject and that, hopefully, spark an interest in the student. Workshop topics have included Forensic Sciences, Entomology (study of insects), Astronomy, Veterinary Medicine, Chemistry and Biochemistry for example. Thirty two workshops will be presented on diverse topics.
Looking forward to a great morning of learning and fun at Brighter Horizons!
