Brighter Horizons Math, Science and Technology Conferencewill take place on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 Brighter Horizons 2010 is presented by the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley Branches in cooperation with the Camarillo and Ventura County Branches. Brighter Horizons Conference nurtures students' interests in math and science related subjects to encourage them to consider careers in technological fields. Students in 5th to 9th grades are invited to choose 3 different workshops each led by a woman who is a professional working in the subject field. Workshops include hands-on activities that will demonstrate tasks related to the subject and that will, hopefully, spark an interest in the student. Workshop topics include Forensic Sciences, Entomology (study of insects), Astronomy, Veterinary Medicine, Chemistry and Biochemistry for example. Thirty one workshops will be presented. Then you will need to print out your form, have a parent sign it and mail it to the address noted on the form with your $10 registration fee (checks made out to AAUW-TO) This form and your registration fee must be received before the event.
